There are so many fantastic "speechie" blogs out there and yes, I read them all religiously. The chic handmade materials, genuine advice, and relatable posts inspired me that maybe I could do the same! Now, I'll warn you...I'm not that witty, in fact, I can barely be sarcastic. But, that's the beauty of technology right? You can't tell if I'm being sarcastic....even if I wanted to be. So BAM! I thought, this is my avenue to let the world know the thoughts of a new SLP to be. I couldn't think of a better way to document the beginning of my career than to have a blog dedicated to the ups and downs of my personal experiences.
Now, a little background on myself before we start the regular updates. I'm a second year master's student with a high interest in early language development and in particular children with hearing impairments. I'm currently longing for the day to be my own clinician however relishing in the supportive and "handholding" environment of which we call grad school...I'm also digging the 2pm trips to the hobby lobby for that ONE item but walking away with 5 frames, and a vase because it was 50% off. That doesn't happen in real life...I know this. Alas, it's time to start making my lesson plans..read countless articles....case reports....oh and finishing Gone Girl because I am DETERMINED to finish it before it comes out this weekend!
Speak. Listen. Sparkle!
